On 29 September we welcomed a group of Logistics Management students from NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences (Emmen) at GeTech and Binder3D in Westerbork.

3D printing in the supply chain
On behalf of Binder3D, Chris van Malkenhorst introduced the students to the world of 3D printing, with a focus on what the technology means for logistics and the supply chain. Think of parts printed on demand instead of held in stock, shorter lead times, less transport and less material waste. This ties in well with the programme’s focus on Green Logistics and the circular economy.
Behind the scenes at GeTech
The students also got a look behind the scenes at GeTech. They saw how we produce precision components, and how conventional machining and additive manufacturing increasingly complement each other.
The next generation
It was great to see how curious the group was and how many good questions they asked. This is the generation that will shape how production and logistics become smarter and more sustainable. Special thanks to Wilbert van den Eijnde for organising the visit.
